The streets buzzing with noise
Became empty overnight
The laughter and the play
And now, nothing in sight
The schools and workplaces
that were so keen to soar
The malls and the buses
mean nothing anymore
Something happened overnight
God introduced us this plight
Reminding us once more
What we thought mended us
Is what actually tore
Now as we sit with our families
Anxious of what’s to come
We should think about our privilege
And how this is a daily for some
As restless as we are
So are they
The difference is that
For them it’s everyday
You’re spending in comfort while waiting for the plague to go away
They give thanks for what they have, even though they have nothing anyway
Sit back and think on that
Maybe it’s time to reflect
What really matters now, what we have to accept
Is that whether it stays or goes,
we should take a moment to thank He,
that through this He saved us
Didn’t leave you abandoned or lost at the sea.
